The Denbigh Asylum (North Wales Hospital)on the outskirts of the town of Denbigh in the Vale of Clwyd, North Wales. A marvellous Victorian building of great architectural merit that has sadly been left to fall into rack and ruin. As a child in North Wales in the 1950's we knew the hospital as the Denbigh Loony Bin. After reading of the "aversion therapy" and electro-convulsive therapy used to treat gays at the hospital in the 1970's it makes me wonder who were the lunatics!
