The Great Orme Tram huffing but not puffing its way up the steep slopes of the Great Orme, Llandudno. (It is a funicular railway not a steam engine.) The system involves two trams connected by steel cable. One carriage ascends while the other descends. Built over a century ago in 1902 the Great Orme Tramway is as popular with visitors to the seaside resort as ever.
