The neolithic burial chamber known as Maen y Bardd sits alongside the Roman Road high above the Conwy Valley in North Wales. If only they could speak these stones would have some stories to tell. Of Roman soldiers marching by to fight the druids of Anglesey, and of English armies en-route to great battles at Caernarfon and Abergwyngregyn. Of more peaceful incomers ..pilgrims en-route to Bardsey Island and the holy places of the 6th Century Saints. Find more historic sites in Snowdonia at www.walesdirectory.co.uk
