Pen yr Ole Wen and Llyn Idwal as seen from Cwm Idwal in Snowdonia North Wales. Surprisingly for a lake in the Welsh mountains (at a height of approximately 360m )it is used for bathing in the summer months! Indeed there is a pleasant pebble beach at the northern end of the lake. But I wouldn't recommend it as the mountain lakes can be freezing throughout the year.
