Medieval stone carvings of animals scampering around the frieze on the church of St Winefrides in Holywell, North Wales. The carvings are typical of several churches in North East Wales and give the clue to the Stanley connection. All the "Stanley" churches received endowments from Lord Stanley and Margaret Beaufort following the accession to the throne of England by Margarets son Henry Tudor. The churches include Saint Mary's Mold, St Giles Wrexham, and St Eurgain's Northop.
